INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO ACHIEVE AICHI TARGET 11: CMS COP 13 SiDE EVENT | 17 February 2020

PLEASE NOTE: The 13th Meeting of the Conference of Parties to the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS COP 13) Side Event entitled, "Innovative Approaches to Achieve Aichi Target 11" is open to only those who are registered to attend the meeting. 

About: India is a forerunner in its contribution towards the achievement of Aichi Biodiversity Target 11. As per the Sixth National Report to the Convention on Biological Diversity, India has surpassed Target 11 and its corresponding national biodiversity target with 27 percent of its total geographical area under conservation.

The side-event will feature an eminent panel from India who will share innovative approaches adopted in enhancing its protected area network and also identifying and mapping other effective area-based conservation measures. A web portal with 600+ nature-based solutions from India will also be launched during the event.

The side event is being co-organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change and National Biodiversity Authority, Government of India, and UNDP.
