Basak Avcioglu is a Landscape architect (MSc and PhD) and regional planner (MSc) with proffessional experience at national and international non governmental organizations for around 20 years. Experienced on project, team and grant management on nature conservation focused on transboundary conservation (Caucasus), ecosystem management, ecoregion based management, protected areas, local participation and lobbying. Have PhD on ecosystem services, social based valuation and landscape integration. She worked 12 years in WWF-Turkey as project officer in Marine and Coast Programme and Senior Conservation Officer in Forest Programme. She is a member of IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA). She is giving expert contributions to international organizations such as IUCN and FAO on protected areas, ecosystem services, ecosystem based adaptation and ecosystem based management.
