A warm thanks to all those who joined us for the third and final technical webinar on the UN Biodiversity Lab! Story maps are a simple, yet powerful tool to inform, engage, and inspire your target audience. They are also an effective way to harness the power of spatial maps to bring data to life, and make hidden stories visible to policymakers or community leaders. The UN Biodiversity Lab's story map tool allows users to build story maps without any GIS or programming skills. Through this webinar we provided you with step-by-step instructions on how to build an interesting and informative story map.
You can access the presentation from the webinar below, including the full speaker notes. To access the speaker notes, just click on the chat icon in the upper left corner. You can also access the transcript of the question and answer sessions below. To access the animated version of the presentation with demonstrations of each step as GIFs, click here. Please click 'Read Only' when prompted for a password. You will then be able to see the presentation but not edit it. The recording will be available shortly.
You can find examples of story maps created by other Parties to the CBD here: Ecuador | Haiti | Moldova | South Africa. Finally, to support you to create your own story map, we're happy to share our template for creating a story map and a written guidance on producing story maps (both attached).
