Last call to register for 2nd edition of the Designing a Multidimensional Poverty Index MOOC (2021) in EN, FR, SP

Are you interested in designing a comprehensive measure to capture the many deprivations faced by the poor? Would you like to gain an understanding of the normative choices and technical requirements of multidimensional poverty measurement? Do you want to access more tools to monitor, analyze and report progress in reducing multidimensional poverty at national and local levels?

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI), Oxford University are offering a FREE six-week Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Designing a Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) in English, French, and Spanish. The course will run from 22 February 2021 to 2 April 2021. The course is aimed at technicians and politicians who are engaged in developing national and subnational MPIs but is open to everyone.

MOOC highlights and outcomes:

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the key aspects of stakeholder engagement in designing and using an MPI 
  • Monitor, analyze and report progress in reducing multidimensional poverty at national and local levels, in line with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
