Introductory Course to Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage

Cultural and natural sites are very diverse, yet they have in common the fact that they constitute, together with many others, a common heritage to be treasured as unique testimonies to an enduring past. Their disappearance would be an irreparable loss for humanity. This course introduces you to the World Heritage Convention, which is one of the most complete international instruments that exist in the field of conservation.

Introductory Course to Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety

This course introduces you to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety to the Convention on Biological Diversity. The Protocol seeks to ensure an adequate level of safety in the transfer, handling, and use of living modified organisms (LMOs) resulting from modern biotechnology that may have adverse effects on biological diversity. This e-course is comprised of four lessons. It will take you 90 minutes approximately to complete the course, excluding additional materials. You are required to answer at least 80% of the assessment questions correctly in order to obtain a course certificate.

Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) and its Instruments

This course aims to enhance your knowledge regarding the role of the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS). The course has five units, beginning with an introduction to the CMS Family; followed by the Institutional Framework and Funding of the CMS; Functions relating to Administration, Finance and Communication;  Meeting of the CMS Family Decision-making Bodies; Implementation; and National Reporting.

6NR Technical Review Framework (EN | FR | SP)

Dear users and colleagues working on the Sixth National Report to the CBD, we are delighted to share with you the Technical Review Framework for the 6NR. This technical review framework outlines the key elements that should be included in the 6NR. Following it will help ensure that each report is in alignment with the guidelines contained in annex to CBD/COP/DEC/XIII/27 and related guidance. The CBD Secretariat, UNDP and UN Environment developed it jointly. We encourage you to use this framework as a complementary guide while developing your 6NR.
