This is the recording of the third week of Part 2 of the MOOC on “Introduction to Resilience for Development: Applying Resilience Thinking to National Biodiversity Plans”.
The third week of Part 2 of the MOOC on “Introduction to Resilience for Development: Applying Resilience Thinking to National Biodiversity Plans” began with a highly informative webinar, titled “Resilience of protected areas in face of climate change” and presented by Andrew Rhodes, General Director of the Pronatura System and Chair of the IUCN Working Group on Climate Change and Protected Areas.
Participants were very enthusiastic and submitted several questions dealing with different aspects of protected areas. In his final remarks, Andrew stressed that in two years, that is 2020, we will be faced with a challenge as many multilateral agreements, such as the Convention on Biological Diversity, are going to have huge discussions as the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity is coming to an end.
Andrew shared several papers at the request of participants. You can find these resources and his presentation in PDF format in this NBSAP Forum thread: http://nbsapforum.net/#read-thread/3069
