This side event is an opportunity for all Stakeholders to take stock of this extensive process as we approach the end of the decade by debating:
1. Lessons learned from NBSAP revision;
2. Effective NBSAP Implementation, and;
3. The future of NBSAPs.
Participants in the event will also have the opportunity to share their experiences about the updating, revising, and reviewing the NBSAPs.
Analysis of aspects of the process will be presented by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, the United Nations Development Programme, the United Nations Environment Programme, and the United Nations Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre.
Presentations will include discussion on the use of spatial data, lessons from NBSAPs technical review, and country presentations. A panel discussion will follow the panelist presentations. All are welcome.
