International Conference on Natural Resources Management And Technology Trends (ICNRM-17)

Resource Type:
Description:

Natural resource management refers to the management of natural resources such as land, water, soil, biodiversity, with a particular focus on how management affects the quality of life for both present and future generations. Using appropriate and cutting edge technologies for the efficient and effective management of natural resources is important for our sustainability. The conference will envisage how in the light of global climatic change scenarios, insights are incorporated from the relation between biodiversity and stability of ecosystem functioning in an array of ecosystems viz. forests, plantations, agro forestry systems and others using recent technology trends, computer simulation models, conservation practices, traditional knowledge and mitigation action.
The conference will create human capital that will take further the cause of monitoring and management of natural resources of the region, with latest trends and better simulation models exhibited in the conference through case studies. The young researchers specially will get encouragement to work and apply relevant models in local conditions after some modifications with reliability. The conference will come out with specific recommendations on the theme for application of relevant technologies like Remote Sensing and GIS and relevant simulation models with development of training modules and demonstration units. Dependence of a large number of Indian populace in general and that from North East India in particular(209 communities) on natural resources for subsistence provides a broad based understanding of the interconnectedness of social and ecological systems, hence the conference will provide the opportunity for the young researchers to design sustainable solutions to address natural resource conservation and management.
