The Greening Consumption and Production MOOC ran from 31 May through 12 July 2017. It was a facilitated course, with a certificate of completion provided by the United Nations Development Programme, in partnership with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, the NBSAP Forum, and The Nature Conservancy.
The course was aimed at policymakers and practitioners working in the area of green consumption and production. By taking this six-week facilitated course, participants gained an overview of key issues related to greening production, consumption and supply chains from a biodiversity standpoint. They learned about mechanisms to facilitate sustainable consumption and production at the international level and in their own country, and had the chance to interact with world-known specialists from UNDP, the private sector, NGOs and national ministries. The MOOC also encouraged them to think critically about their resource use patterns in the context of international, national, and local approaches to greening consumption and production.
