Draft Biodiversity Status Maps for Your 6NR – Serbia

At the beginning of the 6NR process, we challenged Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity to double the number of maps used from your 5NR to your 6NR. Are you on track to meet this challenge? We have exciting news for you!  Using the UN Biodiversity Lab, and the global datasets available within it, we created 18 draft biodiversity status maps for your country.

Utilizing Spatial Planning for Sustainable Development | Insights from Serbia’s 5th National Report to CBD

Serbia’s Fifth National Report (5NR) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) highlights the success of Serbia’s Republic Agency for Spatial Planning (SASP) in integrating and harmonizing Serbia’s ecological, economic and social development, based on the principles of sustainability. SASP achieves this goal by informing policy and development decisions through local, regional and national level spatial plans. The success of SASP corroborates the importance of having spatial planning integrated into national development policies and plans.  


Nature Protection and Wind Farm Development in Serbia

Together with ministries in charge of natural resources, energy and environmental protection UNDP Serbia developed a guide on nature protection and wind farm development in Serbia. The purpose of this publication is to provide a framework for integration of biodiversity principles in wind Energy development in Serbia. It presents an overview of both Serbian and EU legal and policy framework for wind energy and nature conservation, and offers recommendations and best practices available.
