Invitation to participate on Draft 2 of the Principles & Recommendations for Responsible Business Operations in and around KBA

Draft 2 of the "Principles and Recommendations for Responsible Business Operations in and around Key Biodiversity Areas" is now available for public consultation until 10 March 2017. This is the result of a collaborative project of the KBA Partnership coordinated by IUCN. To support the effective management of identified KBAs, the "Principles and Recommendations for Responsible Business Operations in and around Key Biodiversity Areas" aim to provide guidance to businesses operating in and around Key Biodiversity Areas on measures they can take to avoid or reduce their impacts on these sites. The Principles and Recommendations are directed to businesses of all sizes and sectors, and apply to existing and new operations, having direct, indirect and cumulative impacts on the KBA site. Draft 2 can be found on the IUCN website at the following link: https://www.iucn.org/theme/business-and-biodiversity/our-work/business-a... If you are interested in contributing, please complete the comment form (found via the link above) and send it to Giulia Carbone, Deputy Director of IUCN - Business and Biodiversity Programme, at: Giulia.carbone@iucn.org. The KBA Partners will consider all comments received in the development of the next version of the document, scheduled to take place between April and May 2017. If needed, another public consultation will be organized. **This Draft has been developed by IUCN, Wildlife Conservation Society, Fauna & Flora International, BirdLife International, WWF International, and the two co-chairs of the SSC-WCPA Joint Task Force on Protected Areas and Biodiversity.**
